Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) About General Civil Litigation

Q: Mine is an open and shut case. Am I assured of winning?

A: Judges are people, too. They can wake up on the wrong side of the bed. Additionally, it doesn’t matter how open and shut your case is, it matters that we can convince a judge or jury of it, using evidence and rules as required by Alaska law. Juries are people times 12 (or 6 in smaller cases). Most legal professionals and jurors hope to achieve justice, but it is not a sure thing.
